About the Comic
Welcome to Zik the Gallant Defender of Zoz! This webcomic will follow the adventures of Zik as he explores the galaxy and discovers new and interesting worlds.
Zik’s story is set over a thousand years in the future. Humanity has undergone something of a diaspora from Old Earth, but the Zozians are only just finding out about it, having been the first to leave. The story of why and how they left will be told in the comic.
This is a continuing saga in an alternate universe. Humour will be a big part of the comic, but not on every page.
About The Authors
I’m Victor Couwenbergh, the writer and artist for Zik. This is my second webcomic, the first having been Cyko Kid. I’ve also made music, short films, as well as a feature-length b-movie called Maggot Man. Occasionally, I post reviews of things on CultureBandit.com
Contributing authors include Lenore and Vincent Bisier-Couwenbergh, my children. As we all know from reading Axe Cop, children have wonderfully amazing imaginations. Some aspects of the events in this comic come from the input of my children, with their permission of course.
History of the Comic
Like my previous webcomic Cyko Kid, Zik was born during my high school math classes. I’m extremely bad at math; it’s a subject that bores and confuses me. I think in images and sound, not numbers. I decided that since I wasn’t using my time productively trying to understand algebra and calculus, I might as well put it to use drawing comics. Maybe one day I’ll post some of those pages; Zik had a cape back then.
